Artivision


Artivision provide a range of solutions aimed at high end CCTV applications. One of the key failures of CCTV systems is the ability of operators to continuously operate at the high level of attention required to detect events on multiple cameras in a control room.

The key problem is that people are only able to focus for approximately 22minutes before their ability to detect video events decreases by approximately 95%!.

In order to provide a solution for this problem, Artivision have developed the AVISION range of Video Content Analysis solutions.

By allowing the system to take over the task of detecting events and moving the operators task from detection of events to acting on machine detected events, the effectiveness of your control room staff is drastically improved.

By striving for a Zero False Alarm system, Artivision aims to ensure that your operators learn that a system detected event always requires positive action, thereby breaking the cycle of expecting false alarm events.

Below is a summary of the capabilities of the different Artivision platforms.

SecuredVision TM

Intrusion Detection Detects objects entering a secured area. The object of interest can be categorized by size and the direction of motion. Multiple secured areas can be defined to limit the area where intrusion will be detected. This feature aids in filtering unwanted alerts in areas which are of non-interest to the operation of concern.


Perimeter Defense Perimeter defense allows the user to define a virtual line at the area of concern. This virtual line will trigger off alerts when an object crosses/touches it. The virtual line can be defined with multiple rules to filter objects crossing the line in certain directions and of predefined sizes. The perimeter defense feature also sports a pre-alert zone which can detect objects loitering near the perimeter.


Missing/Unattended Detection The user can define multiple regions of interest to detect any object (filtered by size) that had been left unattended or removed from the area. The time to alert is customizable so as to minimize false alarms (e.g. people standing around).


Object Tracking This feature allows the user to manually pick a target and track it either within a camera’s scope. It is especially useful when coupled with a pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) camera as the engine is able to provide the required data for the PTZ camera to track the target. Furthermore, objects can be tracked across multiple cameras as long as the deployed cameras have interlocking zones.

PeopleVision TM

This is a unique solution which has many advanced people management features. For example, it can be used in collecting data on the number of customers patronizing a shopping mall or detecting a crowded situation

Queue Management Inherent in PeopleVision™ is the ability to manage queues as and when the specified threshold of the length of the queue is exceeded. This allows real-time planning of resources to attend to the people in the queue.


Crowd Detection PeopleVision™ is able to detect a crowded situation. The user is able to define an area of interest and the threshold at which it will be considered as crowded. Upon exceeding the threshold pre-defined by the user, an alert will be triggered.


People Counting This feature provides the user with the ability to collect statistical data on the number of people that enters or leaves a certain zone. User can also set the engine to specifically count only people of a certain size heading in a particular direction.


Facial Matching Artivision offer a passive facial recognition filter fro matching faces against a known database of images.


TransportVision TM

TransportVision™ provides machine vision technology for traffic management such as monitoring traffic conditions, measuring speed of vehicles and determining the class of vehicles.

Vehicle Classification TransportVision™ is able to measure the height and the length of the vehicle automatically and classify it accordingly based on predetermined classes. This is especially useful in automatic toll collection systems where the camera determines the vehicle class (based on its height and length) and charge the driver accordingly.


Unauthorized Vehicle Parking Detects vehicles parked at unauthorized zones as defined by the user. This feature ensures that alighting/unloading bays will be clear of illegally parked vehicles


Traffic Congestion Detection TransportVision™ is able to monitor and determine if there is traffic congestion. This is especially useful for traffic authorities to manage and study traffic conditions


Vehicle Colour Identification TransportVision™ is able to identify the colors of vehicles. This is useful for statistical and identification purposes


IVNS - Integrated Video Network Solution

The IVNS is Artivisions network based CCTV platform, supporting large sites with a mix of IP and analog cameras.

The system is made up of a number of elements utilizing Ethernet as the interconnect fabric. This architecture can ne seen in the diagram below: By reducing the monitor count, this follows the Artivision philosophy of allowing the system to do what it does best - process video and allows the operator to concentrate on dealing with events.

This solution is relevant to large customers as it bridges any existing technological infrastructure to new technology, making it a powerful tool for clients in transition
